Police chase ends with crash in north Houston

Passenger arrested, driver ran away

HOUSTON – A police chase in north Houston ended with an SUV crashing into a fire hydrant. Now officers are looking for the driver.

Houston police said an officer saw a Jeep SUV traveling on Northborough Drive early Saturday with no lights on. When the officer tried to pull the SUV over, the driver took off.

The chase ended on Seminar Drive, where the driver lost control and hit a fire hydrant. Both the driver and passenger ran out of the SUV.

Police quickly caught the passenger, but the driver got away.

Police discovered the SUV was stolen and that the driver hit a car during the chase.
