AUSTIN – Governor Greg Abbott held a news conference Wednesday after taking a tour of Orange, TX and receiving a briefing on the severe flooding that has impacted the area.
The briefing was held at the Orange County Emergency Operations Center.

“There is water just covering everything,” Abbott said. “We’re seeing homes that were half-submerged in water and thinking about the people who live there and the loss and grief they must feel.”
According to the Orange County Appraisal District, currently 2,394 structures are in the inundation areas and 14,777 structures are estimated to be in the evacuation zone for a projected value at $627,581,674
Approximately 9,100 people living in the evacuation zone.
