Harris County Republican Party hosts 2016 Lincoln-Reagan Dinner

HOUSTON – The Harris County Republican Party hosted the 2016 Lincoln-Reagan Dinner, and Republican presidential candidates Ted Cruz and Ben Carson were in attendance.

The gathering took place Wednesday at the Bayou City Event Center in the 9400 block of Knight Road.

This is an annual fundraising dinner that features statewide elected officials and Republican presidential candidates.

"Every single one of us has sphere of influence and it is our duty to use that spehere of influence." said Carson.

Cruz, Carson, Gov. Greg Abbott and Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick were all in attendance.

"Now Texas is in a position to make a choice," said Cuz. "I think everyone understands the stakes have never been higher."

He said he is convinced Super Tuesday is the most important day in the Pres. Election cycle.  

"The crown jewel of Super Tuesday is Texas." said Cruz.

The dinner comes a day before the Republican presidential debate Thursday at the Moores Opera House at the University of Houston.
