Woman robbed at auto insurance office in northwest Houston


Police are searching for two men accused of robbing an auto insurance office in northwest Houston.

Houston authorities said two Hispanic males posed as customers and entered an auto insurance office in the 1800 block of Wirt Road around 4:30 p.m. Dec. 11.

Once inside, one of the men lifted his shirt, exposing a pistol in his waistband, police said. The man stole money and a cellphone from a woman inside the store, police said. According to officers, the two men left the business, escaping in an older-model, dark-colored Mitsubishi Montero.

Police described one of the men as being in his mid-20s, 5 feet, 3 inches tall and weighing about 140 pounds. The second man is in his late 20s, 5 feet, 5 inches tall and weighs about 160 pounds, police said.

Crime Stoppers will pay up to $5,000 for information leading to charges against or arrest of the men. Anyone with information is asked to call 713-222-TIPS (8477).
