HPD seeks public's help to catch teens accused in gas station armed robbery

Houston police have released surveillance video of two teens wanted in a December store robbery.

According to investigators the two entered a Shell gas station in the 9600 block of Southwest Freeway at about 10:30 p.m. on Dec. 31.  The robbers drew guns and demanded the cashier give them money from the register. One of the men put his gun to the cashier’s temple and demanded cash, shoving the gun up against the employee’s head when he believed the employee was moving too slowly, police said.  He then order the cashier to give him more money from a safe under the register. The two then ran from the store, police said. Another employee, who was locked in a room called 911, police said.

“These men are quick, violent, get their money, yell and run out,” Houston police Sgt. Tony Moore said during a press conference Monday. “This takes less than five minutes.”

After the robbery, the cashier and father of four, immediately quit his job Moore said.

“These guys are risking other people’s lives and their futures for dollars,” he said.

Police said neither of the employees were hurt.

The thieves are described as two black males in their late teens.  One is about 5 feet 8 inches tall, 140 pounds with a slim build and a dark complexion.  Police said he was wearing a black hoodie and a red ball cap at the time of the robbery.  The second teen is said to be about 6 feet tall, and 150 pounds, with a slim build and a medium complexion. He has long braids or dreadlocks with beads, and was wearing a black jacket and pants during the robbery.
