3 more cars pulled from Brays Bayou; total stands at 15
HOUSTON – There's another update in a story KPRC 2 has been following for nearly two years. Three more cars have been pulled from Brays Bayou as part of the Harris County Flood Control District's submerged vehicle removal pilot project.
Those vehicles were removed using a heavy-lift wrecker from the bayou Wednesday, bringing the total to 15. They were hauled to the Apple Towing yard.
All three vehicles came from removal site D, which is upstream of the Lidstone Street bridge. They included a green 1989 Jeep Cherokee Laredo, a blue 1991 Eagle Talon and a green 1990 Chevrolet Astro van.
The contractor worked Wednesday and will continue to work Thursday to remove more vehicles from Site D. After Thursday's removals, the contractor will move the staging area to Site C, Sims Bayou at Broadway Street, to complete the pilot project.
Please contact the Houston Police Department, 713-308-3280, for further information on any of the vehicles.
