In the past, the city has dealt with beer bottles being thrown at cars and aggressive behavior from vacationers during spring break.

Currently, Port Aransas bans drinking on the beach during the week from midnight to 7 a.m. and midnight to noon on the weekends.

The City Council has yet to decide what time and day the ban will start.
