HOUSTON – Here's a warning for budget shoppers who may buy food from a popular dollar store.
City health inspectors slapped Family Dollar stores in two Houston locations with warnings.
At the store at 804 Maxey on the East Side, inspectors found a dead rodent was stuck on a glue board right under food shelves.
On the South Side at the Family Dollar at 5784 Bellfort, inspectors found rodent droppings all over the floor and told employees not to allow droppings and urine to accumulate because the waste is a health hazard to employees and customers.
At Dona Chela Taqueria at 3738 Broadway, there were live roaches running in the kitchen and glue boards full of dead ones still hanging around.
There were more roaches and gnats inside a cooler in the kitchen of Larry's Bar B Q at 14191 Northwest Freeway at Fairbanks-North Houston.
Our A+s this week are sweet! Kudos to TCBY at 11700 Westheimer and Tutti Frutti Frozen Yogurt at 1413 South Voss.
