'Naked Arrest' fugitive added to U.S. Marshals' '15 most wanted' list for murder
HOUSTON – Wanted and on the run for more than a decade.
50-year-old William Joseph Greer who's now on the U.S. Marshals 15 most wanted list.
Gary Blankenship, U.S. Marshal explained, "It's a program that identifies the worst of the worst, the most violent of offenders."
Greer was charged with murdering his girlfriend, 28-year-old Tammy Marie Esquivel, in December of 2006.
That's when investigators say an argument between the two at their home turned violent.
His two kids were also there at the time and later reported hearing gunshots
It was the last time Esquivel was ever seen.
Richard Hunter, Chief Deputy of U.S. Marshal Office said, "At time, age 9 and 13. They heard the violent confrontation and they heard Mrs. Esquivel fight for her life and ultimately die."
Days after that argument, Greer was found in Liberty County.
Deputies say he was drunk and half naked, dashcam video catching what appears to be a confession.
Hunter said, "At the time Cleveland Police Department couldn't piece together a murder had in fact taken placed and Mr. Greer was released the next morning."
Greer has been on the run ever since.
He's been spotted in a few others states, but more than 10 years later ... continues to elude authorities.
"It's time Mr. Greer be brought to justice. And the U.S, Marshals in conjunction with state local partners will do just that. Mr. Greer if you're watching, justice is coming and we'll see you soon," said Hunter.
