Pregnant mom of baby burned to death in oven heads back to court

HOUSTON – The CPS case involving a mother whose young daughter died in an oven is expected back in court Wednesday.

Court documents state 19-month-old J'zyra Thompson and her three young siblings were left home alone in November.

Prosecutors said the baby somehow got into an oven and burned to death.

Wednesday's hearing will be for two of the siblings.

Thompson's mother Racqual, who is eight months pregnant, is still behind bars.

She is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday AT 9 a.m.

Her and her boyfriend Cornell Malone are both charged with four counts of child endangerment.
