HOUSTON – A man is behind bars Tuesday after a police chase ended in north Houston.
According to police, just before 9 a.m. the driver of a silver SUV led Houston police on a short chase that began in the 5300 block of East Houston Road. Police said the chase ended when the driver surrendered in the area of the 3800 block of Lyons near Pleasant Hill Village retirement community.

"He was trying to get here to see his father," family friends of the driver said.
According to witnesses the driver's father is a resident at the complex.
There were other people inside of the vehicle. They were questioned and released.
