3 arrested after high-speed chase in northeast Harris County

HOUSTON – Three people are in custody after leading police on a chase Tuesday afternoon in northeast Harris County.

Houston police said an officer attempted to pull the driver over when the driver took off. He drove northbound on Highway 59 at high rates of speed.

Police said the car was stolen and they don't believe the three were involved in a robbery or shooting.

The chase ended along Highway 59 in Montgomery County about 15 minutes after it started. 

Police recovered a dog in the backseat of the car. It is unclear who the dog belonged to.
