Special-needs student, bus aide injured in school bus accident


CLEVELAND, Texas – A special-needs student and a bus aide were taken to the hospital Tuesday after an 18-wheeler hit a Tarkington ISD school bus. The truck driver was also taken to an area hospital.

According to officials, five students and the bus aide were on the bus at the time of the crash, which was reported in the area of Highway 105 at FM 2518. Police said the big rig ran a stop sign and hit the bus as it was turning.

The student was taken to the hospital as a precaution. 

The truck driver’s injuries are unknown. She was ticketed for running the stop sign.
