New apartment complex could get ski slope

ASTANA, Kazakhstan – Apartment complexes are offering a lot of amenities in order to entice people to rent, but none can compare with a complex in Kazakhstan.

An architect there is thinking outside the box and wants to build a ski slope on top of an apartment building.

The slope would descend 1,000 feet down from the 21-story building, appropriately named "The Slalom House."

Kazakhstan's capital, Astana, has cold winters, but there are no ski slopes around.

The architect says the project would cost $70 million to build.
