Cold front ushers in wet, chilly day in Houston

HOUSTON – Heavy early-morning rain tapers off to periodic light and moderate rainfall through early afternoon in southeast Texas.  Breezy, chilly conditions combine with the rain to make Sunday a stark return to fall weather in Houston.

Temperatures will hover in the mid to upper 50s all day, with a gusty northwest wind between 10 and 20 miles per hour.

Rain will be most steady in the morning and will begin to taper off through the afternoon.  Clouds will hold firm throughout the day but will begin to break up during the evening and overnight hours.

Overnight temperatures will drop into the mid to upper 40s.

Monday will be significantly brighter and pleasant.  After a chilly morning, temperatures will rebound to the low 70s by afternoon under sunny skies.
