Robber shoots man returning home from work in southwest Houston

HOUSTON – A man returning home from work was shot during a robbery at an apartment complex in southwest Houston

The shooting happened around 1:30 a.m. Saturday on Tanglewilde at Westpark.

According to police, a man walked up to the victim who was returning home from work in his van, demanded his wallet and phone at gunpoint.

It is not not clear if the victim resisted. The man then shot him in the side of the head and took items and fled the scene.

The victim was transported to the hospital in stable condition.
