Woman crushed, killed in crash in southeast Houston

HOUSTON – A woman was killed Sunday in a one-vehicle accident in southeast Houston.

According to investigators, the woman was driving west on Almeda Genoa Road around 12:15 a.m. Monday when she lost control of her vehicle and hit a tree.

Investigators said the impact of the crash caused the roof of the car to crush and kill the woman. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The woman's identity has not yet been released.

Police continue to investigate.
