Review: Petroleum is Texas' most iconic product

HOUSTON – Many states in the U.S. are well-known for a particular product.

Sometimes, the product has historical meaning. Other times, the state's economy is dependent on it.

According to a new review from the editors of 24/7 Wall St., Texas is best known for petroleum.

The Lone Star State is home to the headquarters of some of the biggest oil companies, including Phillips 66, Valero Energy Corp. and Exxon Mobil Corp. And in 2014, Texas exported more than $64 billion worth of petroleum.
