Homeowner shoots intruder in face during attempted home invasion

HOUSTON – A homeowner fought back and opened fire on an intruder who was trying to break into his house Friday morning, according to Pasadena police.

A couple was visiting a friend's home in the 5100 block of Turnberry Court.  As the couple was walking out of the home around 3 a.m., an armed man charged through the doorway, police said.

That is when the homeowner grabbed his semiautomatic pistol and opened fire on the suspect. The suspect was shot five times in the face, police said.

He was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital by Life Flight in critical condition.

The couple who was visiting the home fled the scene, but police eventually caught the man.  The woman remains on the loose.

No charges have been filed against the homeowner.
