Top Houston public schools rankings

HOUSTON – A new list is out ranking the top public schools in the greater Houston area. A group called Children at Risk researched and ranked 163 public high schools. 

The results are based on STAAR tests, removing bias from campuses with more economically disadvantaged students, improvements on standardized test scores and college readiness.

Top 10 Public High schools:

  • Debakey High School for Health Professions of HISD
  • Carnegie Vanguard High School (HISD)
  • Kerr High School (Alief ISD)
  • High School for the Performing & Visual Arts (HISD)
  • Clements High School (Fort Bend ISD)
  • Clear Horizons Early College High School (Clear Creek ISD)
  • Eastwood Academy (HISD)
  • Yes Prep - Southwest
  • Clear Lake High School (Clear Creek ISD)
  • North Houston Early College High School (HISD)
  • Children at Risk also ranked the top middle and elementary schools. Below is a look at the Top 10 for each:
