SJCSO: Man arrested after investigation into dead horse on his property

SAN JACINTO COUNTY, Texas – A man was charged with animal cruelty after deputies said they investigated a dead horse that was on his property.

According to the San Jacinto County Sheriff's Office, on April 15, San Jacinto County Constable Precinct 3 received a complaint about a dead horse that was smelling and had been burned in the front yard of 2310 Lee Turner Road. The caller went on to say that two other horses at the location looked severely emaciated and had ribs showing.

An SJCSO animal control deputy was called out to assist in the investigation on April 18. The officers met with Joshua Bruno and examined the horses, including the dead horse. SJCSO said the men seized the live horses for their well-being.

Two days later the constables also arrested Bruno, 31, who was placed in the San Jacinto County Jail.

The horses were released to S&S Ranch Rescue.
