McDonald's overhauling customer service in light of slumping sales

HOUSTON –  McDonald's is facing slumping sales and now it's working to overhaul it's customer service in hopes of bringing in more customers.

One of the big changes will be self-service. McDonald's is planning on installing self-order kiosks to try and improve accuracy of orders, according to CEO Don Thompson. Some McDonald's restaurants will even begin offering table service.

McDonald's has also been testing customizable burgers. Those will be similar to Five Guys or Smashburger. These burgers are topped with premium ingredients and can take seven minutes to make.

All of the changes are an effort to improve McDonald's customer service, which Thompson recently told a group of investors that customer service is one of the biggest issues facing the McDonald's brand.
