Chris Bell announces his candidacy for Houston mayor

The former U.S. Congressman first ran for mayor in 2001

HOUSTON – He's served as a city councilman and a congressman and now Chris Bell is making another bid to lead the city of Houston.

Bell served in Houston's city council in the 90's and was elected to Congress in 2002.

He made the big announcement Sunday at Sam Houston Park.

Bell ran for mayor in 2001 and lost to Lee Brown.
