Coach talks about former Alief Taylor star playing for Seahawks in Super Bowl

HOUSTON – Seattle Seahawks defensive end Michael Bennett is headed to Arizona for Super XLIX, but Alief Taylor's JD Jordan remembers when Bennett was just a teenager.

"He didn't like the practice much, but boy he loved the game and was a great player. He was 6 feet 2 inches, about 215 (lbs) as a senior and has since grown up to be the man he is today. He just good at running down the football, played defensive end for us. Just a big, strong physical guy," said Jordan.

Going from undrafted in 2009 to Super Bowl champion is just a testament to Bennett's character.

"He understands the work ethic and the attitude it takes to be at that level. He's a great father and husband. He's got two beautiful daughters. He grew up the right way and was doing it right," said Jordan.

After Seattle's win in the NFC Championship game over Green Bay, Bennett was seen riding a bicycle down the sideline. It's just something that makes his old coach smiles and shakes his head.

"Don't get hurt on the bike. He's an athlete. He can handle himself, but that's just the kind of guy he is. He's just fun-loving and enjoying himself. He told me himself that he expected to win and go back to the Super Bowl. They did just that," Jordan said.
