19-year-old arrested, charged in shooting death in SE Houston


HOUSTON – A man was arrested Wednesday and charged with shooting a 21-year-old to death in southeast Houston on Jan. 3. 

Police said they found the body of Desmond Jamal Steen, 21, at 4200 Mallow at about 11 p.m. 

According to Houston police, witnesses reported Steen and an unknown black male were involved in a disturbance prior to the shooting.  After witnesses heard the gunshots, police said they saw the black male flee on foot.

Further investigation led police to identify Elijah Monroe McQueen, 21, as a suspect in this case. He was taken into custody without incident.
