Woman, 2 kids forced into closet when armed intruders ransack Cypress house

HOUSTON – Harris County Sheriff's deputies are searching for a group of armed men who barged into a home in Cypress Thursday morning.

The initial 911 call came in at around 8:15am.  The caller stated a woman had been forced into a closet inside a home in the 15200 block of Macy Drive.

According to deputies, the five men busted in through a back door.  A woman and her two children were home at the time.

"It terrifies me, I mean it's horrible and it should not be happening," said a resident, Kimberly, who lives nearby.

She says she has seen a lot of suspicious activity lately, including Wednesday night when a man knocked on her door.

"He said 'we're seeing if you want yard service' and it was night time," Kimberly said.  "Then he went to my neighbor's house and said he was with charity."

Initial reports indicate the men may have stolen jewelry from the home.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the Harris County Sheriff's Office.
