Man accused of dangling baby son over balcony

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – The Harris County Sheriff's Office has charged a Houston man after deputies said he dangled his infant son over a second story balcony.

Chad Brown, 31, is charged with endangering a child. According to court documents, deputies responded to the 500 block of West Airtex Boulevard near Ella Boulevard Wednesday at 10:33 p.m. for a disturbance. Witnesses called 911 after Brown was spotted dangling his 8-month-old son over the balcony, Harris County Sheriff's Office spokesperson Tebben Lewis said.

Lewis said Brown and the baby's mother were having an argument when he held the baby over the balcony. The baby was not injured.

Brown is being held in the Harris County Jail without bond. He is due in court Friday.

Court records show Brown has a previous criminal history of deadly conduct, failure to register as a sex offender, theft by check, trespassing and evading detention.
