FBI looking for witness in robbery Compass Bank

The FBI is searching for this man who they believe witnessed a midday bank robbery in Kingwood.

KINGWOOD, Texas – The FBI is searching for a man they believe witnessed a midday bank robbery in Kingwood.

This happened around 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Compass Bank on Kingwood Drive near Timber Shadow Drive. Investigators say three men, who were wearing black hoodies, masks and gloves, barged into the bank and demanded money.

Officials said the three men were last seen leaving in a stolen, white Ford van.

Authorities described the robbers are black men in their 20s. One robber was described at 5 feet 7 inches tall and 200 pounds. Another robber is described as 5 feet 10 inches tall and 155 pounds. A description for the third suspect was not given.

The FBI says the possible witness entered the bank five minutes before the robbery and was seen leaving in a gray Dodge Mangum. 

Anyone who can help identify the witness is asked to call the Houston FBI office at 713-693-5000.

The bank is located next door to a Houston fire station.

Investigators said one of the dye packs, which are usually inserted into money during robberies, did detonate.
