Four arrested for allegedly assaulting Dickinson police officer

DICKINSON, Texas – Four people are accused of assaulting a Dickinson police officer.

On September 15, an officer was called out to a home in the 4400 block of Missouri after getting a call about loud music.

A man threw a beer bottle at the officer.  The officer tried to arrest the man, but he started attacking the officer and tried to remove his weapon from his holster.  Several of the suspects friends jumped in to try to help free their friend, said police.

The man was eventually detained.  Several others were also arrested for assaulting the officer.

Juan Mata is charged with attempting to take a weapon from a peace officer and assault on a public servant.  Angel Valdez, Xavier Hayes and Ashley Charcas are all charged with assault on a public servant.
