GRIMES COUNTY – Crews are working to contain a grass fire in Grimes County.
According to the Grimes County Sheriff's Office, the fire is located near County Road 234, just south of B & R Road.

Officials estimate about 54 acres have been consumed.
Bulldozers have been brought in by the Forestry Service as firefighters continue to work on containing the smoldering areas.
As of late Wednesday afternoon, no structures were destroyed and no residents have had to evacuate.
Officials said crews will be on scene for at least the next 24 hours. They continue to ask residents to stay clear of the area while emergency responders work.
