On September 22, 2011, thirty Escalades will drive-away from the Arlington GM plant to begin their philanthropic expedition.  Each team represents one of the six charities and consists of a charity member, radio personality, and local athletes.  The avid competition will be intense from the start, September 22 until the end, October 29th, a month log journey advocating each charity.

Vote, Share, Act:

All across Texas, Team Escalade's teams will be competing for their charity video to get the most exposure through Voting, Sharing, and Acts of kindness via Facebook. Each team will been given funds to create a video to broadcast how they help the community.  The team's video that gets shared, liked, or acted upon to the most will be awarded a $150,000 media package from Cadillac.

Team Escalade:

Team Escalade will be led by Drew Pearson.  Pearson will attend events and conduct interviews on behalf of Team Escalade.  Each charity will also be given an exclusive team that supports the individual charity mission.  Each team will consist of a radio station in North Texas and one in Houston that will provide station personalities, events, on-air support and more.  Additionally each charity will receive well known celebrities as team mates that will help spread the word.

Dallas, Houston, Austin, and San Antonio are the four cities that are participating in this grand event.  Each city will be promoting their national charity, locally.  Cadillac is a proud sponsor and has organized the event with specific design to introduce the 2012 Escalade to the market.

About Drew Pearson:

Known around the NFL as "Mr. Clutch," Drew Pearson rose from an unknown rookie free agent to being named one of the Top 20 Pro Football All-Time Leading Receivers.  He was named to the 1970's NFL Hall of Fame's All-Decade Team, named to the NFL All-Pro team three times and played in Super Bowls X, XII and XIII. While every Cowboy fan will have their favorite Pearson memory, none could stand out more than his "Hail Mary" touchdown reception from Staubach to beat the Vikings in the 1975 NFC Divisional Playoffs.

About the Charities:

Six charities are involved in Team Escalade.  Each of the six national charities will be represented by their local chapter in North Texas, Houston, Austin, and San Antonio.

Team CureDuchenne : representing CureDuchenne is a Texas foundation dedicated to bridging the gap between identifying research that has the most likelihood of making it to clinical trials and to take it from the lab and into human trials to cure Duchenne.  Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) is the most common lethal genetic disorder diagnosed during childhood, a stem cell disease that causes muscles to die and not regenerate.  Duchenne is 100% fatal and as of right now, there is no cure.  Symptoms usually appear in male children before the age of 5 because DMD gene is found on the "X" chromosome.   DMD affects approximately 1 in 3,500 boys and each year, around 20,000 children worldwide are born with DMD.

Team House : representing the Ronald McDonald House exists to serve and sustain families when serious illness or injury strikes the most cherished part of their lives, their children.  The Ronald McDonald House of Dallas of Dallas (RMHD) is the only organization that provides a temporary home-away-from-home for families whose children are receiving treatment for a serious illness or injury at a Dallas area hospital. In an effort to lessen the burden, reduce stress, keep the family intact, and enhance the quality of life for these families, the RMHD provides affordable housing in a caring home-like atmosphere.

Team Strength : representing Love, Hope, Strength is an international, music-centric cancer charity dedicated to saving lives, one concert at a time. Their mission is to save lives, right now, with the advances that have already been made in cancer care. LHSF do not fund cancer research; rather they use their funds to: build and support cancer centers around the world, build awareness of the global cancer needs, build international marrow databases through the "Get on the List" campaign.

Team Gift : representing Taylor's Gift is a foundation dedicating to shedding light on the awareness of donor registries.  Only 40% of adults over the age of 18 are currently enrolled in state donor registries.  A single donor can save over 50 people. Taylor's Gift Foundation was founded in 2010 with a mission to Re-gift Life, Renew Health, and Restore Families.  Taylorsgift.org is an online resource dedicated to the memory and legacy of Taylor Storch, and to continued outreach in her name. "Be a hero. Be an organ donor."

Team YMCA: representing the YMCA is a cause-driven organization that is for youth development, for healthy living and for social responsibility. That's because a strong community can only be achieved when people invest in their kids, their health and their neighbors.  With a mission to put strong, moral principles into practice through programs that build a healthy spirit, mind and body for all, our impact is felt when an individual makes a healthy choice, when a mentor inspires a child and when a community comes together for the common good,  "For youth development, for healthy living, and for social responsibility."

Team Champion : representing Special Olympics Texas whose' mission is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in the sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.
