HOUSTON - Authorities are investigating an officer-involved accident that happened late Friday night.
The accident happened around 9:30 p.m. near Shepherd Drive and the Katy Freeway. A Houston police officer was responding to a code 1 call with lights and sirens.
The officer was traveling through the intersection. Several cars had stopped to allow the officer to pass through, but the driver of a convertible car with two occupants did not stop, crashing into the officer's car, police say.
The female officer was transported to the hospital for minor injuries. The male and female occupants of the convertible were also transported to the hospital in stable condition
According to police, officers will be testing the driver of the convertible to see if alcohol was a factor.
