2 masked gunmen wanted in restaurant robbery spree across northwest Houston

HOUSTON – Police are searching for two men who they said held employees and customers at gunpoint before taking off with cash during a string of restaurant robberies in northwest Houston.

Police said the duo hit three different locations within an hour, starting just before 10 p.m. Monday.

The first location they robbed was a Denny's on the North Loop, police said.

The masked men, who were wearing all black, then went to an IHOP on 290 and Hollister and robbed the employees and customers, police said.

The third location the men robbed was a Denny's on 290 and Pinemont, police said.

"One had a long gun, one had a pistol (and they) went in and robbed the customers and the business, (then) fled in a white small four-door vehicle." HPD Lt. Larry Crowson said.

Police said the vehicle might have been an Oldsmobile or Buick.

Investigators are interviewing witnesses and looking at surveillance video to determine the details of the robberies and how much the robbers got away with.

Anyone with information about the robberies or the identities of the two men is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
