The principal of Bonnette Junior High said a former student posted a Snapchat message requesting people to come and shoot up Deer Park. The same poster later posted a photo of himself holding what is believed to be a gun, according to police.

The suspect was identified as a 15-year-old former student and the gun was determined to be an airsoft gun, police said.

The suspect is charged with making a terroristic threat.

Also on Friday, according to a district resource officer, a student wrote "I'm going to shoot up the school" on a desk at Deer Park Junior High.

Authorities were able to determine that a 13-year-old boy wrote the message in an attempt to be funny. The teen is charged with exhibition of a firearm.
