2 dead after shooting outside McDonald's in southwest Houston

HOUSTON – Two people were killed Friday after a shooting outside a McDonald’s in southwest Houston.

The shooting was reported around 1 a.m. in the 3900 block of Westpark.

Investigators said the victims were stopped at a light when the driver was shot several times. He managed to get to the McDonald's parking lot where his body was found. 

The victim's white car was sitting in the southbound lanes of Fondren with gunshots through the passenger door and window, police said.

Police said they were told that another man was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The motive for the shooting was not immediately known.

Fondren was closed in both directions as police investigated.
