2 arrested on human smuggling charges in Harris County

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – Harris County prosecutors charged Jorge Hernandez and Denis Caballero with smuggling of persons for monetary gain.

Police said the men are accused of trying to smuggle multiple people, including at least one juvenile.

Officers made the discovery during a traffic stop on I-10 Monday.

Both men are accused of driving with three immigrants in separate vehicles. Each immigrant pail to travel and enter the U.S.

Neither Hernandez nor Caballero is a citizen, according to authorities.

They are being held with no bond for the time being. They both also have an immigration hold for potential deportation after the criminal charges are resolved.
