HOUSTON - Two men have been accused of killing a man during a home break-in.

Mauro Reyna, 18, and Eric Sorto, 20, have been charged with murder and aggravated assault.

Houston police said Daniel Rivera Jr., 25, was fatally shot in the 4700 block of Beechaven about 3:40 a.m. on Sunday.

Detectives said witnesses told them that someone broke into the home and shot Rivera while he was in his bed.

Rivera was taken to a hospital, where he died.

Investigators said witnesses also told them they were confronted by a man with a gun. The man pointed the gun at women and then left the home, police said.

Detectives said Sorto was the shooter. Reyna's role in the slaying has not been revealed.

Sort and Reyna have been arrested and are being held in the Fort Bend County Jail.
