2 arrested in robbery at University of Houston

HOUSTON - Two people have been arrested in connection with a robbery at the University of Houston on Monday.

University police said a man carjacked a woman at a gas station in La Marque on F.M. 519 about 7 a.m.

Detectives said the man then drove to the University of Houston and robbed the C-store at Calhoun Lofts at gunpoint about 9:30 a.m. He got away with about $250, police said.

The man then drove to the Red Carpet Inn in the 6100 block of the Gulf Freeway, where the pickup truck was found about 11:30 a.m. Investigators said the driver sped away on Interstate 45 before he crashed, ran on foot and carjacked another driver. He has not been captured.

A passenger in the pickup truck stayed at the scene and was arrested.

Police later went back to the Red Carpet Inn and arrested a third person believed to be involved in the case.

La Marque police said Terrance Anderson, 39 is a suspect in three carjackings there, including the one Monday morning. University of Houston police confirmed that he is a person of interest in the C-store robbery.
