2 arrested, 2 sought after Cypress pharmacy burglary, chase

HOUSTON – Two people were arrested Friday and two others were being sought after a burglary was reported at a Cypress pharmacy followed by a chase.

The break-in was reported about 3 a.m. at the Walmart Neighborhood Market at Barker Cypress Road and Logenbaugh Drive.

Harris County deputies said that a group broke into the pharmacy while employees were inside. They said the group stole medicines, including a medicine locker which contained a GPS tracking device.

Deputies said the tracking device helped them locate the group in a vehicle near Highway 290 and Beltway 8.

When deputies tried to stop the vehicle, the driver sped away and led authorities on a chase that ended near US Highway 59 and Cavalcade Street, officials said. The group fled the scene on foot, and two of them were later arrested, officials said. Two others are still at large, deputies said.

Deputies said they recovered the medication locker and much of the merchandise that was stolen. An ax was also found, deputies said.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-8477.
