1 killed, 1 critically injured in 2-vehicle wreck in Sugar Land area

SUGAR LAND, Texas - Police say one driver was killed and another was critically injured in a two-vehicle wreck on Highway 90 in Sugar Land.

According to police, the accident happened around 6:40 a.m. Sunday when a Tahoe traveling south on Dairy Ashford ran a red light and slammed into the side of a Dodge Charger heading west on 90.

According to reports, the driver of the Charger,  identified as 25-year-old Carlos Ybarra, Jr., died at the scene.

Police said the driver of the Tahoe was transported by Life Flight to Memorial Hermann Hospital in critical condition.

Police do not believe the driver of the Tahoe was intoxicated at the time of the crash, but said the crash remains under investigation.
