HOUSTON - Are you craving for coffee but want to save some money? How about some homemade cold brew.
Popular food truck Coffee-Q is one of the best in town when it comes to coffee and their barista Julio Arevalo stopped by our studio to share a recipe for pumpkin cold brew that’s equally easy and smooth.
But there is something you need to know before making your cold brew at home, you have to wait 18 hours before you can refrigerate your brew. “It takes time, but definitely you can save a lot of money” said Arevalo.
• ½ pound of ground coffee
• 2 liter pitcher
• 1.5 liters purified filtered water
• Cold brew coffee filter
• 1.5 ounces of pumpkin pie sauce
Place ½ pound of ground coffee inside the filter. The coffee needs to be ground course, same as a French press. Then wet the coffee inside the filter by using half of the water. You can use a 3 to 1 water to coffee ratio
Tie the filter and add the rest of the water inside the pitcher. Wait for 18 hours, make sure you strain the filter and refrigerate your cold brew.
Add the pumpkin pie sauce to the bottom of the cup, and half a cup of cold brew. Stirred it really well and add ice and a straw.
