This is What Executive Chef Christina Ha is Creating for The Galveston Island Wine Festival

Moody Gardens is hosting The Galveston Island Wine Festival this Labor Day weekend September 1-3 and it is going to be bigger and better than ever!

Some of Houston’s top chefs, including Executive Chef Christine Ha, will be creating dishes for the Festival. The weekend is an extravaganza of wine, top chefs, food, and live entertainment. Master Sommelier Guy Stout is curating the wine selections.

The fun begins on Friday night with the ‘Seven On Seven Seafood Extravaganza’ features seven chefs and pairings from seven regions. MasterChef Winner Christine Ha and Chef David Cordua will be amongst the culinary luminaries.

Houston Life’s Melanie Camp caught up with Chef Ha at one of her restaurants, The Blind Goat, in Spring Branch to taste one of the delicious offerings at The Galveston Wine Festival this year. Watch Chef Christine Ha talk about her dish in the video above. The dish features wagyu on delicately toasted bread topped with Vietnamese inspired sauce and will be served on the the Saturday night, at the Penguins & Pinot: Grand Tasting at the Aquarium Pyramid where guests will tour the world’s oceans through wine, chef presentations, and marine life. A highlight being the painting sessions with the Moody Gardens penguins!

For Bourbon lovers, the Sunday will feature Freedom Stories Bourbon Tasting pairing light hors d’oeuvres with bourbon. The evening is in honor of our military with veterans sharing their stories.
