Meet the Sugar Plum Fairy & the Nutcracker Prince from the Houston Ballet's 'The Nutcracker'

Two new faces to dance lead roles in this year's production

HOUSTON – The Houston Ballet officially returns home to The Wortham Theater with their production of The Nutcracker by Stanton Welch AM. 

Two new faces will be dancing on stage - Alyssa Springer, Demi Soloist, will be dancing the part of the Sugar Plum Fairy, and Naazir Muhammad, Corps de Ballet, will be dancing the part of the Nutcracker Prince. 

Houston Life co-host Derrick Shore caught up with the two dancers on what it's like to be playing such iconic roles for the first time.
