HOUSTON – A man is accused of biting a deputy during a drug arrest Monday in north Harris County.
The Harris County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office said Jeremy Gray, 31, bit one of the deputies who tried to remove a plastic bag of crack cocaine from Gray’s mouth as he tried to chew and swallow the drug when deputies arrived for a disturbance call. Authorities said the bite drew blood.

Authorities said Gray was sent to the hospital for treatment of swallowing “a large amount” of crack cocaine.
Once he was released from the hospital, he was arrested. He is charged with assault of a peace officer and booked into the Harris County Jail. His bond is set at $20,000.
Diane Levi, 53, was also arrested at the same address as Gray on Monday. Authorities said she tried to walk away from the scene, but was detained. She gave a false name to avoid arrest for an open warrant, according to the constable’s office. She, too, authorities said, had an illegal controlled substance, though it’s unclear from the news release what that substance was.
Levi is charged with possession of a controlled substance. She is now in the Harris County Jail.
