Officials at the Texas Department of State Health Services said they will soon launch the Texas Public Health Vaccine Scheduler which will allow people to register for shots through some public health providers or to identify upcoming vaccine clinics that are being hosted by DSHS or local health departments. The service will also give people notifications when appointments become available. More information can be found at dshs.texas.gov/covidvaccine.

For those who can’t register online, DSHS officials said they will also launch a toll-free number soon that will help people get a vaccination appointment scheduled.

Only people who are 80 and older can walk up to a vaccine provider and request a shot. Everyone else will be required to make an appointment.

DSHS has also created a map of health care providers that have been provided doses of the vaccine. You can click here to view it. People said patients should contact the provider directly to determine the availability of the vaccine. This map is maintained by DSHS.

There are also 13 vaccine hubs in the Houston area. You can find information about how to join the waitlist for these hubs at dshs.texas.gov.

Officials are urging people to practice patience because the demand for the vaccine is still outpacing the available supply.

Here’s the information provided by government and health officials about how to register for a waitlist to receive it. People can also contact their health care provider directly for information about how to receive the vaccine.

This page will be updated as more registration information is received from officials. The list is sorted by counties and then by other methods. Scroll to the bottom of the list to see information from hospital systems and pharmacies.
