HOUSTON - The weekend is here, and that means consumer expert Amy Davis has a slew of free things for you and the family to do.
The Night Market at the Asia Society Texas Center is a festive, family-friendly night of tasty treats, local vendors and crafts. You'll also get a free look at the fall exhibition.
Stop by 1370 Southmore Blvd Friday, between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m.
Houston Symphony: Hocus Pocus
Enjoy a concert from the Houston Symphony at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion. Mezzanine and Lawn seats are free.
Lucus Waldin conducts the Houston Symphony in a mesmerizing performance of horrifying horns, bewitching bassoons and chilling cellos. Everyone is encouraged to dress up in their Halloween costume for a chance to walk on stage during the concert. The first 100 boys and "ghouls" to check in at Hocus Pocus Central in the North Plaza, fully costumed, get to march in the Goblin Parade.
Haunting the plazas before dusk are pre-concert activities starting when the gates open at 6 p.m. If you dare, hop onto the Great Pumpkin Express and carve out some great (or gruesome) memories on The Pavilion's haunted grounds. Train rides begin at 5:30 p.m. in The Pavilion's Gold Lot.
Zomball in Tomball
2nd Saturday at the Depot is a family oriented event held on the second Saturday of every month. From themed arts and crafts, to games, music and a movie under the stars on the giant inflatable screen, 2nd Saturday is fun for the entire family. The October 2nd Saturday is the annual "Zomball in Tomball" with a community "trunk or treat", spooky attractions and activities, entertainment and more. This month's movie is "Paranorman". Festivities are from 5 to 9:30 p.m.
A Night at Market Square Park
This annual neighborhood favorite is back! Join us for a historic night out Saturday from 6 to 9 p.m. at 301 Milam Street by exploring the neighborhood's eclectic bars and restaurants. Enjoy lawn games and a cold beverage at Market Square Park before settling on the lawn for a live performance by Shinyribs!
Guardians of the Galaxy
Free outdoor movie playing on the big screen at Discovery Green Saturday from 8 to 10 p.m.
CITYCENTRE revs up its engines on Sunday from 3 to 7 p.m. for the 6th Annual Lamborghini Festival. More than 100 Raging Bulls will take their place in CITYCENTRE plaza, offering a true treat for the senses. Don’t miss the additional exotic brands on display such as Ferrari, Porsche, McLaren and Bugatti. Enjoy live music by Collectors Item Band.
The Lamborghini Festival includes more than 20,000 attendees, passionate enthusiasts who travel from far around and even outside the country to live the experience. This is an event that you don’t want to miss, an opportunity for enthusiasts of all ages to see these creations in person, from vintage Lamborghinis to the latest models.
Dress in your Halloween best with Houston Symphony’s orchestra of witches and goblins on Sunday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Get into the Halloween spirit with creepy classics of the orchestral repertoire, but don’t be scared - this concert is spooky free fun for the whole family
This is a ticketed event for the covered seating area. Free tickets are available (4 per person over age 16 while they last) at the Miller Outdoor Theatre box office the day of the performance between the hours of 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. If tickets remain at 1 p.m. the box office will reopen one hour before show time to distribute the remaining tickets. As always, open seating on the hill. The shows goes on rain or shine.
