Friday Freebies: Burgers and beer

HOUSTON – Take advantage of our fall-like weather this weekend by getting outside. We all paid for the cool temps with sweat back in July and all of these events are free!

Today is the only day to get into the 50th annual Original Greek Festival in Montrose for free. From 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. there is no cover at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral on Yoakum. Beginning Friday afternoon through Sunday evening, admission will cost you $5.

Make the drive to Killen's Burgers in Pearland Saturday for free burgers (one per customer) and beer to anyone over 21 while you wait in line.

Celebrate the 5th Ward on its 150th Anniversary Saturday. It's a party at Lyons Unity Missionary Baptist Church from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m. They'll have free entertainment, food, medical screenings and activities for the kids.

"Zomball in Tomball" is Saturday night at the Train Depot on Elm Street. Dress up the kids and start Halloween early at 6 p.m. with "trunk or treating" at local businesses, a Menacing Maze, Spooky Swamp and "Hotel Transylvania 2" on an outdoor screen at 8 p.m.
