HOUSTON – In-N-Out trumps Whataburger in Texas?

That’s what a Business Insider/Foursquare study determined.

The study was designed to determine the most popular fast-food chain in each state.

Using data from Foursquare, the study looked at which chains received the most visits on average in every state based on the total number of visits to each chain divided by the number of locations in that state.

It’s important to note that not everyone checks in on Foursquare when they’re making an everyday Whataburger run, but when it’s a new, novel visit -- such as to one of the 35 In-N-Out locations in Texas -- one could be more likely to check in.

In most states, Chick-fil-A was the victor. The company generates more revenue per restaurant than any other fast-food chain in the U.S., and it's only open six days a week, according to Business Insider.
