Coffee recalled for containing Viagra-like ingredient

A coffee company is voluntarily recalling one of its coffee products after learning one of the ingredients is similar to the active ingredient in Viagra, according to a Food and Drug Administration recall notice.

Bestherbs Coffee LLC’s Kopi Jantan Tradisional Natural Herbs Coffee has an ingredient that’s “structurally similar to sildenafil, the active ingredient in Viagra,” according to the FDA.

The company is recalling the coffees for an undeclared milk ingredient as well.

The coffee is marketed as a male enhancement drink, but the combination of sildenafil with other prescription drugs could be dangerous for those with high blood pressure, high cholesterol or heart disease.

The coffee is sold online nationwide.

No one has been reported ill, as of this writing.

Bestherbs Coffee LLC is notifying its customers by phone. Consumers that have used the product should stop using it and call a doctor.  Please return the product to Bestherbs Coffee LLC, 4250 Claremont Dr, Grand Prairie, TX 75052.  Customers returning the product will be reimbursed for the returned goods and postage.
