HOUSTON – The Chef of the Month for January is Alberto Gutierrez of Anejo.
Anejo Executive Chef Alberto Gutierrez grew up in the border town of Laredo. With his family's backyard being a hub for cookouts and family events, chef's love for cooking began at an early age.
Chef Alberto's cooking career spans more than 18 years and includes stints at well know culinary destinations like The Driskill and Four Seasons Hotels in Austin as well as the renowned La Posada Hotel in Laredo. His passion for bringing people together through food, drives his desire to constantly innovate and deliver awe inspiring flavors.
With culinary greats like Thomas Keller, Anthony Bourdain, and Mario Batali as his inspiration, chef is primed to make an impressive mark on the Houston food scene.
Now leading popular Uptown Park Hot spot Añejo, Chef Alberto brings an unmatched passion for cooking, creative flair and drive to win to the team. Chef Alberto specializes in traditional Mexican fair but enjoys Italian, BBQ and Vietnamese cuisines.
When he's not in the kitchen, chef spends time with his wife Michele enjoying family gatherings and taking in a great bowl of Pho or nice slice of pizza.
